(09 Jan 07) MacWorld '07

I am writing this as the conference is live just so I can post it as soon as the thing finishes.

The legendary Steve Jobs started of the conference as always with a look back at the last year or so, pointing out how well the transition to Intel went. He also informed the audience to iTunes last milestone, iTunes has had over 2 billion music downloads (5 million a day now / 58 every Second).

Over half of the Mac sales in the last year have been from new switchers, which I am sure everyone else agrees is amazing.

Ofcourse you can't have a Mac user gathering without a session of slagging off Microsoft, which focused on the Zune ofcourse.

Now we get to the interesting part. iTV has been released but with the name 'Apple TV', which looks the same as previewed. It includes wireless 802.11b/g and n, the latest wireless hardware. It also has a 40GB Hard Drive and supports 720p HD. The Apple TV is a mere $299/£199.

And argueable the biggest and most anticipated things for Apple have been the iPhone and widescreen/touchscreen iPod. Well, Apple have made it all in one. A brilliant design. It does some pretty amazing things, surf the web (using Safari,

thanks to MacRumours for the pictures

The Apple Stores are already being updated.

(09 Jan 07) Mac Madness Is Changing!
As the next step of the website is really to get bigger. DUHH? I have decided we need a domain that is recognizable world-wide, so I decided to get a .com domain.

Sadly though MacMadness.com is already owned and they wanted $2300 for me to have the domain. So I was very tempted to buy the domain, well, NOT! So with our new domain I am getting we are getting a new name aswell.

I can't say what it is until the domain is finalized and ours. The transfer will not be immediate as we plan to build a brilliant website, "Good things come to those that wait".

I will tell you as soon as we get anything else to announce.

(06 Jan 07) WE WIN MACRANK!
Well, it isn't a game but, we have just been put in MacRanks hall of fame as the top site in 2006.

All the team are ecstatic to have come out top, and Ihope we can do the same in 2007.

For being number one at the end of 2006 we are now allowed to show the banner on the left, and are entitled to brag to everyone how well we did.

If you haven't voted for us recently then please do, as it helps keep our traffic up and keep the resources we have online.

(28 Dec 06) New Year, New Additions
I have had a big upgrade on the site. I started by recoding the main site so it is now completely dynamic, which means I can easily upgrade things and I will be more able to update more regularly.

We have also closed our advertising with Clicksor to start our own advertising campaign, and we are starting at a great price of just 5 USD for an advert on every page for a whole month. Just contact us or have a look at our adverting page.

I have also slightly edited the navigation for the main site, I have dropped the hover over function for four reasons, A. it makes the code a lot bigger, B. It achieved nothing, C. You had to load twice as many images, and D. it looked rubbish.

Now, off of the boring stuff that doesn't interest most people.

Sadly, I have closed ZEST (our very own search engine). And therefore I have deleted 4 widgets that depend on it from the site.

I am very happy to announce that as we close 2006 that Mac Madness is at number one on Macrank. I hope this proves that we are doing well, and it only spurs me on try and maintain our number one place right through to the end of 2007.

The video section has had a small tweak/addition, it now includes a Pre-G3 section and a Anti Microsoft.

As you can see we at Mac Madness are dedicated to making the site better for you, our visitors, and to make the site better I need your help. I need to know what you think we should add and what works and what doesn't. So, please contact us and tell us.

(16 Dec 06) Some Nice Videos
I have had a few think different adverts for over a month, but I have finally got round to uploading them.

There are only 3 videos but they have brilliant characters in, lik Ali.

I am also planning to add a lot more to the site over the next week content wise. Please contact me if you come across anything that you think should be on Mac Madness.

(07 Dec 06) MMP1 Released
I have just finished my first podcast ever and it isn't too bad. You may want to click on this to listen.

You probably won't believe me, but all my microphones I digged up from my many boxes of cables and stuff (4 mics in total) didn't work. I actually managed to record this podcast with my Guitar tuner, which I think is useful as I get to be tight-fisted and save 5 GBP.

Please tell me what you think, I know it isn't brilliant, but tell me what you would like added.
